Bhubaneswar: Odisha cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday recommended inclusion of ‘Saora’ language in the eighth schedule of Constitution of India.

An official source said that the inclusion of Saora language in the eighth schedule of the Constitution will benefit the Saora tribe of Odisha.

It will help in the preservation, promotion and propagation of Saora language.

Additionally, activities such as publication, content creation and recognition of Saora culture will get momentum, the official source added.

More than five lakh Saora-speaking indigenous people will be benefited from the decision of the cabinet, the official informed.

The Cabinet’s decision to recommend the inclusion of Saora language in the eighth schedule of India’s Constitution will have no financial implication, the official claimed.
