Bhubaneswar: Plus II board examinations conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) started across Odisha today.
On the first day, students of Science stream appeared for the Modern Indian Language (MIL) subject paper. The exam began at 10 AM in examination centres spread across the state.
The examinations for Commerce and Arts stream will begin March 2. Similarly, the vocational studies examinations will start from March 3.
While there were reports of question paper leak floating in social media, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash confirmed that the leaked question papers are fake. He urged students not to believe in rumours and informed that a report has been lodged with the cyber police station in this regard.
Dash further emphasized that for better transparency, CCTV cameras have been installed at the examination centres.
This year about 3.5 lakh students have registered to appear for the examination which will be conducted in 1,145 centres, said a source.
As many as 2,19,110 students are expected to appear in the Arts stream examination. For Science and Commerce students, the expected number of students is 91,379 and 23,148 respectively.
