Bhubaneswar: The 19th edition of the Toshali National Handicrafts Mela 2025 will commence March 19 and continue until March 31 at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate the event, organised by the Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts department. Handlooms, Textiles, and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta, speaking at a press meeting Tuesday, highlighted the significance of the event in promoting both traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.
Over 700 artisans and weavers from across the country will participate, exhibiting a diverse range of handloom and handicraft products.

A special “Theme Pavilion” titled “Shilpa Srujani” will be set up in a 2,500 sq. ft. area, while more than 650 stalls will feature handcrafted products. The event will also host 150 handicraft artisans and 50 weavers, sponsored by the Government of India.
Beyond shopping, visitors can explore a food court with 35 stalls offering a variety of cuisines, including authentic Odia delicacies. Each evening, cultural programmes will showcase performances by artists and troupes from Odisha and beyond, in collaboration with the Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy and the department of Culture.
Special arrangements such as wheelchairs, dedicated restrooms, and a mother-and-baby care room have been made for convenience. With an expected footfall of 30 lakh visitors and projected sales of Rs28 crore, the event is poised to be a significant cultural and commercial success.
The mela will be open daily from 3pm to 10pm, with full logistical support, including security, medical services, and accommodations for women exhibitors.
