Bhubaneswar: In view of the increasing anxiety among parents and students regarding conduction of board examination by the state government, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Wednesday wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to give clarification regarding the duration of 2020-21 academic session and conduction of Class X and XII board examinations.
In the letter Patnaik mentioned that, “In the absence of clarity on academic session and conduct of both Class X and XII Board examinations, all enrolled students and their parents and teachers are in a state of uncertainty leading to anxiety due to absence of clarity on academic session and conduct of both the board examinations.”
“As all competitive entrance examinations and admission in institutions of high education are interlinked, national guidelines with tentative timelines will help the states frame appropriate strategy. It will also help students anxious about the exam dates to plan and prepare accordingly,” the added Patnaik in the letter.
CM also told to the PM Modi that the Odisha government has decided to keep educational institutions closed till December 31, 2020 in view of the safety and security of the students.
“We have been trying to reach out to maximum number of students digitally through different modes. But it is not possible to cover all students and prepare them for the Boards and different competitive examinations,” said Patnaik.
