Odisha crosses 50,000 COVID-19 recovery milestone

Bhubaneswar: Odisha health department Friday said that a record1,927 persons who earlier tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered and are being discharged.

Out of the 1,927 persons, 246 are from Khurdha, 190 from Ganjam,151 from Nayagarh, 146 from Rayagada, 108 from Sundargarh, 101 from Kandhamal,95 from Dhenkanal,88 from Mayurbhanj, 86 from Koraput,78 from Cuttack, 77 from Puri, 75 from Bolangir, 74 from Jajpur, 70 from Balasore, 43 from Malkangiri, 40 from Nabarangpur, 34 from Gajapati, 30 from Jagatsinghpur, 28 from Bhadrak, 27 from Nuapada, 21 from Kalahandi, 21 from Sambalpur, 19 from Kendrapara, 18 from Keonjhar, 17 from Deogarh, 13 from Jharsuguda, 12 from Bargarh, eight from Boudh, six from Sonepur and five from Angul.

With this, total recoveries in the state now stand at 50,503.

Meanwhile, Odisha’s COVID-19 caseload touched 72,718 with the detection of 2,698 new cases, while 10 more fatalities pushed its coronavirus death toll to 390. A total of 1,675 cases were recorded in quarantine centres and the remaining were detected positive during contact tracing.

The state 56,479 tested Thursday samples for COVID-19, taking the total number of tests conducted so far to 11,72,426.
