Cuttack: Jyoti Kumari netted six goals as Odisha hammered Uttarakhand 17-0 to open their Sub-Junior Girl’s National football championships campaign Tuesday on a rousing note here at the Barabati Stadium.
Jyoti (19th, 29th, 45th, 76th, 77th and 90th) achieved a double hat-trick while Manisha Naik (13th, 26th, 50th, 62th) scored four goals including a hat-trick. Substitute Barsha Mahakud (67th, 87th, 88th) also got her name on the hat-trick list. Gayatri Behera (36th, 39th) and Malati Munda (fourth, 31st) were the other scorers for the hosts.
In another match of the day at the same venue, Sunita Munda (fifth, 21st, 59th, 67th) and Soni Munda (eighth, 60th, 61st, 88th) scored four goals each to help Jharkhand hand a 10-0 thrashing to Goa. Astan Oraon (seventh) and Archana Kumari Roy (80th) also scripted their names in the scoresheet.
In the third game played on the day, Naorem Priyangka Devi and S Lynda Kom of Manipur scored four and three goals respectively to script a facile 8-1 victory for their side over Tamil Nadu at the Ravenshaw University ground. Mayanglambam Jeena Chanu (57th) scored the other goal while S Priyadharshini (27th) got one back for the side from Southern India.
