Cuttack: Odisha continued with their dominant performance as they rode on a brace by Jyoti Kumari to thrash Uttarakhand 6-0 in a match of the Sub-Junior Girls’ National Football Championship at Ravenshaw University Ground here Thursday.
Malati Munda opened the account early in the sixth minute of the match. Jyoti doubled the lead in the 17th minute and immediately a minute later she made it 3-0. Manisha Nayak struck in the 22nd minute much to complete Odisha’s dominance in the first session.
After the change of ends Uttarakhand players showed some improvement in their standard of play. They created many a few chances in the process, but couldn’t capitalise on them. Odisha players turned out to be opportunistic as Barsa Mahakud struck in the 56th minute to make it 5-0. Sasmita Amanga sealed the fate of the lop-sided match with a brilliant goal in the 79th minute.
In other matches played on the day Manipur defeated Tamil Nadu 6-2 and Goa pipped Delhi 5-4 in a nine-goal thriller.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) selected Jabamani Tudu and Manisha Pana from Odisha for the national senior women team’s coaching camp at Gwalior, July 8-25. Based on the performances in this camp players will be selected for the upcoming COTIF Cup.
