Sambalpur: Sambalpur Division Postal Superintendent filed an FIR against six aspirants at Town Police station for submission of forged educational certificates to secure ‘Gramin Dak Sevak’ (Postal) jobs, a source said Saturday.
According to the source, the six accused are from Bargarh, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi and Deogarh districts. All of them applied for the posts of branch postmaster (BPM) and assistant branch postmaster (ABPM).
The alleged fake certificates were issued from educational institutions in Uttar Pradesh, the source added.
Based on the FIR, police have launched a probe into the matter.
In another unrelated incident, cops have arrested four job aspirants for using fake educational certificates to secure Gramin Dak Sevak posts in Jeypore town in Koraput district Saturday.
Besides, similar allegations of fraud were reported from Kandhamal, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Kendrapara districts following the bust of a fake certificate racket in Bolangir district in March 2023.
