Odisha: Ganja worth Rs 3 crore seized; two arrested

Malkangiri: Kalimela police seized 350 kg ganja worth `3 crore and arrested two persons Sunday night while patrolling near Kenduguda village under Kurmanur panchayat in this district.

Acting on a tip-off about ganja smuggling in the forest, Kalimela police conducted a raid and arrested two smugglers while they were preparing to smuggle the contraband hidden in sacks outside the state.

The approximate cost of the seized contraband would be over `3 crore, said the police. However, identity of the accused duo has not yet been ascertained. Kalimela police after registering a case started an investigation in this regard. Police are currently interrogating the accused and after completion of investigation, the names and addresses of the accused will be shared, police informed.
