Odisha girl Saranya to watch Chandrayaan 2 landing with PM Modi

Talcher: Saranya Nanda is going to have the time of her life as she has been selected to be with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to witness the landing of Chandrayaan 2 on the surface of Moon, September 7.

Saranya, a student of Chandrasekharpur DAV School in Bhubaneswar and a resident of Kaniha in Angul district, is one among many students chosen from across the nation to watch the historic moon landing.

Chandrayaan 2 will land on the moon at midnight, September 7. PM Narendra Modi will be at the ISRO headquarters to witness this event. And two students each from all the states and union territories have been selected to be with the PM to feel the thrill.

Saranya has received the invitation from ISRO, Bangalore. The space agency has given her the opportunity as she has been selected through a space quiz competition. In 2017, she received an appreciation letter from the PM for writing a poem on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Saranya is the second daughter of Sameer Nanda, AGM, financial department, NTPC at Kaniha and Sulabh Nanda.
