Bhubaneswar: Smt Sushila Devi, ‘first lady of Odisha’ and wife of Governor Professor Ganeshi Lal passed away late Sunday night.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed his deep grief at the passing away of Smt Sushila Devi. CM Patnaik described her as a very warm and pious lady. He also conveyed his deep compassion to Governor Lal and other members of the bereaved family.
Notably, Governor Lal and his wife had earlier tested positive for COVID-19 November 2. Professor Lal had been admitted to SUM Covid Care Hospital in Bhubaneswar City for treatment.
