Bhadrak: Huge quantities of government-supplied drugs were found dumped near a canal under Bhandaripokhari block in Odisha’s Bhadrak district, a source said Sunday.

According to the source, the dumped drugs include multivitamins, calcium tablets, and other medicines. The matter came to fore after some locals spotted the huge cache of medicines.

It is yet to be known who dumped the medicines and when.

The dumped medicines were supplied by Odisha State Medical Corporation (OSMC) to hospitals under ‘Niramaya Yojana’— an Odisha government scheme that aims to provide essential medicines free of cost. This was confirmed as the medicine strips have the logo of Odisha government, the source added.
