Sambalpur/Paralakhemundi: Heavy rainfall over the last few days has affected road connectivity at various places in Odisha’s Gajapati, Malkangiri and Sambalpur districts, sources said Wednesday.
According to a source, a temporary bridge located at Dalimbapur village in Gajapati district was washed away. This incident has left over 3,000 people from three villages completely isolated from the mainland.
Another source informed that a culvert near Tarlakota village got submerged in rainwater resulting in the complete disruption of road communication between Malkangiri and Balimela. Locals have expressed their dissatisfaction over these circumstances.
Besides, the water was flowing over Kankorakanda, Potteru, and MV 90 bridges in Malkangiri district at the time of filing this report. This led to difficulties in transport and communication.
