Odisha HSC exam: BSE denies math question paper ‘leak’

Bhubaneswar: Some pictures mimicking the Mathematics question paper of annual High School Certificate (HSC) examination allegedly surfaced before the conclusion of Monday’s examination, a source said.

After the completion of the mathematics examination, some of the students found some similarities between the subjective type questions in the purported viral question paper and the one that was given to them for the examination.

They said that Set-C and D of the viral question paper matched with today’s question paper issued by the Board.

After coming out of the examination hall, several students expressed concern after hearing the news of the question paper leak.

The Board, however, denied the allegations of mathematics paper leak. BSE president and vice-president refuted the accusations.

BSE vice-president Nihar Ranjan Mohanty said that the purported question paper surfaced on social media after the mathematics examination was over at 11:45am.

“We have not received any complaint of paper leak yet,” Mohanty added.

Unlike the English paper, this time the area from which the question paper went viral on social media has not been ascertained yet.

It can be mentioned here that some pictures mimicking the English question paper of HSC examination went viral from Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts February 23 which later fuelled the apprehensions of a ‘paper leak’ in Odisha. The Board had denied the ‘paper leak’ allegations.
