Odisha: IMD issues Orange Warning for these 12 districts

Bhubaneswar:  The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Tuesday issued Orange Warning for as many as 12 districts of Odisha.

Till 8.30 AM of March 22, the weather agency predicts that thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph along with hailstorms are very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha.

IMD has issued Orange Warning for Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Jajpur, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Kendrapara districts of the state.

In the same timeframe, Yellow Warning (be updated) has been issued to 13 districts of Odisha.

The IMD predicts thunderstorm with lightening are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Puri, Ganjam, Khurda, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Jagatsinghpur, Subarnapur, Boudh, Bolangir, and Nuapada.

For the same time frame, Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri.

The highest maximum temperature of 35.0 degrees Celcius was recorded in Jajpur and the lowest minimum temperature of 13.4 degrees Celcius was recorded at Nuapada in the state Monday.
