Odisha logs 327 new Covid-19 cases; 44 below 18 years  

India adds 1,829 new Covid cases, 33 deaths

Bhubaneswar: Taking the tally in the state to 10,42,100, Odisha Tuesday registered 327 new Covid-19 cases including 44 cases between the age group of 0-18 years in the last 24 hours.

The active caseload in the state now stands at 4,122 while it was 4,237 November 1. Out of the 327 new infections, 191 were reported from quarantine centres while 136 persons contracted the virus locally.

Worth mentioning, the number of positive cases reported November 1 and October 31 were 316 and 488 respectively.

Odisha also reported four new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking the toll in the state to 8,340. Balasore, Khurda (Bhubaneswar), Jagatsinghpur and Puri districts reported one death each.

Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 177 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack district with 29 new infections. Notably, Khurda and Cuttack districts had reported 152 and 32 new cases respectively November 1.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Mayurbhanj (13), Sambalpur (10), Jajpur (nine), Bhadrak (eight), Jagatsinghpur (seven), Puri (six), Bolangir (five), Ganjam and Sundargarh (four each), Nayagarh and Koraput (three each), Nuapada and Jharsuguda (two each) and Dhenkanal, Boudh and Kendrapara (one each).

The State Pool reported 42 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive. It was 35 November 1.

A total of 2,21,07,977 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 438.
