Bhubaneswar: Taking the tally in the state to 10,39,269, Odisha Tuesday registered 433 new Covid-19 cases including 64 cases between the age group of 0-18 years in the last 24 hours.
The active caseload in the state now stands at 4,623 while it was 4,554 October 25. Out of the 433 new infections, 252 were reported from quarantine centres while 181 persons contracted the virus locally.
Worth mentioning, the number of positive cases reported October 24 and 25 were 447 and 425 respectively.
Odisha also reported four new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking the toll in the state to 8,316. Mayurbhanj reported two deaths and Khurda (Bhubaneswar) and Jagatsinghpur reported one death each.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 207 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack district with 36 new infections. Notably, Khurda and Cuttack districts had reported 211 and 40 new cases respectively October 25.
Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Sambalpur (17), Mayurbhanj (15), Jagatsinghpur (14), Sundargarh (12), Kendrapara (11), Nuapada (Nine), Balasore, Puri, Jajpur and Deogarh (eight each), Bhadrak (seven), Bargarh (six), Angul and Nayagarh (four each), Rayagada, Kalahandi and Ganjam (two each), Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal and Subarnapur (one each).
The State Pool reported 49 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive. It was 45 October 25.
A total of 2,16,47,068 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 360.
