Odisha Man stabbed inside police station in Koraput district

Koraput: A man was stabbed with a knife on the premise of Boipariguda Police Station in Koraput district Wednesday, a source said.

The victim was identified as Khagapati Gadaba from Tatiguda village. Cops arrested Goura Harijan of Ghumura village as an accused in the crime.

According to the source, Khagapati and Gaura had past animosity. They got into an altercation Tuesday morning at a tea shop. Following the spat, Khagapati allegedly attacked Gaura with a stick and the latter sustained an injury in the head. Subsequently, Gaura approached the police against Khagapati.

Later, police detained Khagapati.

While Khagapati was in detention, Gaura allegedly stabbed him with a knife on the premise of the police station.

After the incident, Khagapati was admitted to Koraput District Headquarters Hospital for treatment. Later, he was shifted to Boipariguda Hospital, the source added.

Police have lodged an FIR and initiated a probe in this regard.
