Odisha: Missing Jharsuguda minor rescued from Chhattisgarh

Jharsuguda: A minor boy was rescued from Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh after he went missing from a hospital in Buromal area in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district, a source said Monday.

After the boy went missing April 7, his family filed an FIR at Jharsuguda Police Station. Acting on the FIR, police launched a search operation. Later the boy was found in Bilaspur the same day, the source informed.

According to the source, the mother of the minor boy fell ill and was later admitted to a hospital in Jharsuguda district April 7. The minor boy was present in the hospital along with his brother. However, he went missing from that hospital. Meanwhile, the boy admitted to fleeing from Jharsuguda on his own.

In another unrelated incident, March 27, a 15-year-old boy called Samarth Agarwal — the son of a businessman in Jharsuguda district — was kidnapped and murdered over a ransom demand of Rs 50 lakh.

Police found his body in Bargarh district March 28.

Police have arrested two persons namely Dinesh Kumar Agarwal from Brajrajnagar and Amit Kumar Sharma from Jharsuguda district in this connection.
