Bhubaneswar: A number of Odisha-based MPs, Wednesday, met the senior officials from the East Coast Railway to get a stock of the situation relating to several railway projects going on in the state and the various bottlenecks they are facing.
The delegation of the Odisha MPs, most of whom were first time MPs, got acquainted with the different railway projects in the state and were apprised by the department on its current status. The elected legislators also discussed their ideas to help the railway department for better penetration of its network.
The meeting was held in the state capital for the Khurda Road Railway Division on the department related issues. Vidya Bhushan, the General Manager of the EcoR met the MPs and brainstormed on several facets of the developmental works carried out in the state.
A media release from the department said, “Many constructive ideas, valuable advice and Public Demands on Railway issues were raised by the MPs. These included issues like development of railway network, public demands reflecting public aspirations and review of working of East Coast Railway.
The Odisha MPs who joined the review meeting included-Bhartruhari Mahtab, Chandrasekhar Sahoo, Mahesh Sahoo, Pinaki Mishra, Manjulata Mandal, Chandrani Murmu, Pramila Bisoi, Sarmistha Sethi and Rajashree Mallick. General Manager, East Coast Railway, Shri Vidya Bhushan and all senior Heads of Departments of ECoR including DRM/Khurda Road Sashikant Singh attended the meeting.
