Bhubaneswar: The OBC survey deadline has been extended by Odisha government to June 6, a notification issued by I&PR Department of the state government stated.

The OBC survey was originally planned to be carried out between May 1 and May 26. However, the government extended the deadline to June 6 due to the hot weather conditions, the notification informed.

From now on, the government-hired enumerators would visit the homes and conduct the survey on holidays as well.

All 208 castes excluding Brahmin, Karan, Schedule Caste, and Schedule Tribe are taking part in the survey. The anganwadi centres and Public Distribution System (PDS) stations have been designated as survey centres in addition to door-to-door surveys. Any adult member of a family might go to the centre to provide information about the members of his or her family.
