Odisha police to reward personnel for achieving ‘Mo Sarkar’ objectives

Bhubaneswar:  A system of rewards would be introduced for the police personnel in achieving the aims and objectives of ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative of the state government, Director General of Police BK Sharma said here Friday.

The DGP said police personnel who perform well in terms of manners, etiquettes, behaviour and response to citizens will be suitably rewarded.

Reviewing the steps are taken for implementing the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative of the government through video conferencing, the DGP said Odisha Police has taken several steps for effective implementation of the initiative of the government which is scheduled to be launched October 2.

He said a state level workshop was organized at police commissionerate headquarters in Bhubaneswar that was attended by over 350 police officers including Master Trainers from all the districts.

The training imparted soft skills training and focused on functioning of the call centre. Similar trainings were also organised at the district level in the first week of September last.

A well-organised system has been developed for recording feedback from citizens who come to police stations for various official work. A state level call centre has been established in Bhubaneswar which is a nodal agency for implementing the ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative, DGP said.

Similarly, district call centers have also been established in all the districts which will function under the direct supervision of district superintendents of police. Call centres at the state and district level have started functioning from September 4 last. Appropriate targeted corrective measures are being taken for improving the functioning of police at the police station level, the DGP added. He has asked the SP, IGP, and DIG to analyse feedbacks on a daily basis and take targeted corrective and disciplinary actions as deemed necessary.
