Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha has recorded 105 new Covid-19 cases, of which 22 are in the age group of newborn to 18 years, taking tally in the state to 12,86,957. Active caseload in the state now stands at 743.
Odisha reported one new fatality in the last 24 hours taking tally in the state to 9,116 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department posted Thursday morning. The state had reported zero Covid-19 fatality Wednesday.
Cuttack district reported the single death.
Out of the total 105 new infections, 64 were reported from quarantine centres while 41 persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 80 cases of coronavirus infections Wednesday.
Ganjam district registered the highest number of new cases with 32 persons testing positive for the disease, followed by Sundargarh with 17 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Balasore (6), Bargarh (2), Bolangir (4), Boudh (2), Cuttack (1), Deogarh (1), Dhenkanal (1), Gajapati (6), Jagatsinghpur (3), Jajpur (5), Jharsuguda (1), Kandhamal (2), Kendrapara (2), Khurda (5), Koraput (4), Mayurbhanj (6) and Sambalpur (4).
The State Pool reported only one new case. This is the person who has come from outside Odisha and has tested positive.
A total of 3,00,57,960 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 111.
