Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha has recorded 151 new Covid-19 cases, of which 19 are in the age group of newborn to 12 years, taking total tally in the state to 10,50,505. Active caseload in the state now stands at 2,107.
Odisha also reported one (01) new fatality in the last 24 hours taking total tally in the state to 8,424 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Tuesday morning. The state had reported one (01) Covid-19 fatalities Monday.
Dhenkanal alone reported one (01) death.
Out of the total 115 new infections, 89 were reported from quarantine centres while 62persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 105 cases of coronavirus infections Monday.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 63 persons testing positive for the disease, followed by Sundargarh with 15 new infections.
Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Angul (1) Bargarh (1), Bhadrak (1), Balangir (1), Cuttack (6), Dhenkanal (2), Gajapati (2), Ganjam (3), Jajpur (6) , Kendrapada (2), Keonjhar (1), Koraput (6), Mayurbhanj (3), Nayagarh (1), Puri (10), Rayagada (2), Sambalpur (6), Sonepur (1).
The State Pool reported 16 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 2,41,20,891 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 248.
