Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha has recorded 228 new Covid-19 cases, of which 35 are in the age group of newborn to 18 years, taking total tally in the state to 10,49,108. Active caseload in the state now stands at 2,338.
Odisha also reported two (02) new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking total tally in the state to 8,411 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Tuesday morning. The state had reported one (02) Covid-19 fatality Monday.
Jharsuguda amd Nuapada districts reported two one (01) death each.
Details of cases confirmed as death due to Covid-19, after due completion of death audit process:
1.A 58 years old Male of Jharsuguda District who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease.

Out of the total 228 new infections, 134 were reported from quarantine centres while 94persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 197 cases of coronavirus infections Monday.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 96 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Mayurbhanj with 21 new infections.
Angul (2), Balasore (1), Bargarh (1), Bhadrak (1), Balangir (3), Cuttack (17), Dhenkanal (1), Ganjam (5), Jagatsinghpur (4), Jajpur (7), Jharsuguda (3), Kendrapada (4), Keonjhar (3), Khurda (96), Koraput (2), Mayurbhanj (21), Nawarangpur (1), Nayagarh (2), Puri (10), Rayagada (3), Sambalpur (11), Sonepur (2), Sundargarh (5).
The State Pool reported 23 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 2,37,27,873 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 221.
