Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 3,554 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 8,97,062. The active caseload in the state now stands at 33,019. Out of the 3,554 new infections, 2,028 were reported from quarantine centres while 1,526 persons contracted the virus locally.
Odisha reported 47 new fatalities as of Friday taking total tally in the state to 3,848 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Saturday morning.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 651 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack with 501 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Angul (133), Balasore (271), Bargarh (31), Bhadrak (158), Bolangir (31), Boudh (33), Deogarh (8), Dhenkanal (56), Gajapati (24), Ganjam (22), Jagatsinghpur (145), Jajpur (256), Jharsuguda (11), Kalahandi (21), Kandhamal (38), Kendrapara (119), Keonjhar (65), Koraput (69), Malkangiri (61), Mayurbhanj (196), Nabarangpur (22), Nayagarh (100), Nuapada (20), Puri (233), Rayagada (61), Sambalpur (18), Subarnapur (29) and Sundargarh (71).
The State Pool reported 100 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,34,86,082 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of new recoveries stands at 3,644.
