Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha has recorded 734 new Covid-19 cases, of which 101 are in the age group of newborn to 18 years, taking total tally in the state to 10,21,950. Active caseload in the state now stands at 5,521.
Odisha also reported four (04) new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking total tally in the state to 8,150 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Wednesday morning. The state had reported five (05) Covid-19 fatalities Tuesday.
Cuttack, Kendrapara, Khurda and Nayagarh districts reported one (01) death each.
Out of the 734 new infections, 424 were reported from quarantine centres while 310 persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 462 cases of coronavirus infections Tuesday.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 335 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack with 91 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Jagatsinghpur (32), Balasore (30), Jajpur (29), Mayurbhanj (27), Puri (17), Angul and Sundargarh (13 each), Bhadrak (10), Nayagarh and Sambalpur (seven each), Ganjam and Kendrapara (six each), Bargarh and Dhenkanal (five each), Koraput and Rayagada (four each), Jharsuguda and Keonjhar (three each), Malkangiri (two) and Gajapati, Kandhamal, Nuapada and Subarnapur (one each).
The State Pool reported 81 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,94,45,652 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 560.
