Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha has recorded 761 new Covid-19 cases, 101 of which are in the newborn to 18-year-old age group, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 10,01,698. The number of active cases in the state has risen to 8,917.
Out of the 761 infections, 443 were reported from quarantine centres while 318 persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 853 cases of coronavirus infections Sunday.
Odisha also reported 68 new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking the total tally in the state to 7,426 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Monday morning. The state had reported 69 Covid-19 fatalities Sunday.
Cuttack district topped the fatality list with 17 deaths. It was followed by Jagatsinghpur (15), Dhenkanal (nine), Khurda (eight), Jajpur (six), Kendrapara (four), Balasore (three), Puri (two) and Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Rayagada districts (one each).
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 289 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack with 117 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Balasore (52), Jajpur (35), Mayurbhanj (24), Sambalpur (20), Bargarh and Jagatsinghpur (18 each), Angul (16), Kendrapara (15), Puri (13), Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Nayagarh (12 each), Sundargarh (10), Bhadrak (eight), Keonjhar and Rayagada (five each), Ganjam and Kandhamal (three each), Bolangir, Gajapati and Malkangiri (two each) and Boudh, Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur and Subarnapur (one each).
The State Pool reported 64 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,75,44,497 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 1,078.
