Odisha registers 8 new Covid-19 cases; 2 below 18 years

Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, Odisha has recorded eight new Covid-19 cases, of which two are in the age group of newborn to 18 years. With this, tally in the state reached 12,88,210. Active caseload in the state now stands at 161.

Odisha reported zero new fatality in the last 24 hours, tally in the state remaining constant at 9,126 as per a tweet of state Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) department posted Monday morning. The state had also reported zero Covid-19 fatality Sunday.

Out of total eight new infections, five were reported from quarantine centres while three persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 71 cases of coronavirus infections Sunday.

Khurda registered highest number of new cases with three persons testing positive for the virus. It was followed by Bolangir, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj and Nuapada districts with one new infection each.

The State Pool reported only one new case. This is the person who has come from outside Odisha and has tested positive.

A total of 3,14,39,990 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at seven.
