Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported 1,931 new cases of coronavirus infection in the state in last 24 hours, state I&PR Department said in a tweet Wednesday.
Out of the new positive cases, 1,120 persons were in quarantine while 811 contracted the disease after coming in contact with infected persons.
The death toll in Odisha rose to 1181with 13 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours. Most of these COVID-19 patients were suffering from diabetes, hypertension and other complications, state Health Department said on Twitter.
District wise breakdown: In the last 24 hours, Angul district reported 120 fresh COVID-19 cases, Balasore 73, Bargarh 66, Bhadrak and Bolangir 64, Boudh 7, Cuttack 153, Deogarh 9, Dhenkanal 35, Gajapati 9, Ganjam 27, Jagatsinghpur 78, Jajpur 67, Jharsuguda 56, Kalahandi 45, Kandhamal 46, Kendrapada 61, Keonjhar 65, Khurda 273, Koraput 29, Malkangiri 38, Mayurbhanj 99, Nabarangpur 62, Nayagarh 23, Nuapada 43, Puri 72, Rayagada 25, Sambalpur 37, Sonepur 30 and Sundargarh 104. According to the department, the state pool stands at 51.
The number of active cases in Odisha stands at 20,750. So far, 2,74,181persons have tested positive for the disease in the state.
With the recovery of 2,622 patients Tuesday, total number of recovered patients in the state stand at 2,52,197. As many as 41,59,394 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the state.
