Bhubaneswar: Odisha Thursday reported 2,898 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total tally in the state to 70,020.
Eight more fatalities took the death toll across the state to 380.
Out of the 2,898 new cases, 1,792 were reported from quarantine centres while 1,106 are local contacts.
District wise breakdown: Angul reported 16 new cases, Balasore 140, Bargarh nine, Bhadrak 107, Balangir 173, Boudh one, Cuttack 241, Deogarh three, Dhenkanal 44, Gajapati 53, Ganjam 226, Jagatsinghpur 84, Jajpur 69, Jharsuguda 49, Kalahandi 76, Kandhamal 63, Kendrapara 57, Keonjhar 35, Khurda 524, Koraput 132, Malkangiri 56, Mayurbhanj 53, Nabarangpur 37, Nayagarh 232, Nuapada eight, Puri 104, Rayagada 105, Sambalpur 77, Sonepur 23 and Sundargarh 101.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 22,651.
