Odisha reports 15 COVID-19 positive cases Friday, tally rises to 20

Bhubaneswar: The novel coronavirus disease continued to spread its tentacles across Odisha as the state reported 15 more positive cases Friday, bringing the tally to 20.

According to the Health and Family Welfare department, seven close contacts of the Suryanagar case (including wife, daughter and tenants), three persons of Bomikhal, one case in Cuttack, one case of Puri, one in Jajpur and two cases of Bhadrak tested positive.

 

The department later announced that the state has so far tested 1395 patients. Out of the 282 samples tested today, 237 were tested at RMRC, 25 at AIIMS and 20 at SCB.

The Health department also issued an advisory to follow lockdown rules and stay at home.

“Staying at home is the only way we can slow the spread of #COVID19. Stay at home and save yourself and your family. #odishaFightsCorona,” the Health department added.

Later in the evening, BMC sealed Bomikhal area.

According to a notification issued by the agency,  the road between Cafe Coffee Day(Near Ekamra Hall) to Jharpada Canal Road, Jharpada Canal Road to Jharpada Durga Mandap, Jharpada Durga Mandap to Cuttack-Puri Road (DCB Bank Square) and Cuttack-Puri Road (DCB Bank Square) to Cafe Coffee Day(Near Ekamra Hall) were announced a restricted zone.
