Odisha reports 59 H3N2 influenza virus cases in last two months

Odisha asks districts to keep surveillance on ILI, SARI as H3N2 cases detected

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has reported 59 positive cases of H3N2 influenza virus during January and February, an official source said Saturday.

According to Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) Director Sanghamitra Pati, the centre received 225 samples of suspected influenza virus during January and February.

She said while conducting the typing of the influenza virus in the laboratory, it was found that 59 of them have the H3N2 influenza virus.

Pati said the concerned hospitals and health centres from where the samples were collected have been informed about the detection of the H3N2 influenza virus.
