Bhubaneswar: Odisha Monday registered a record single-day spike of 4,198 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total tally in the state to 1,55,005.
Eleven more patients succumbed to the infection, taking the state’s COVID-19 death toll to 637.
Out of the 4,198 new cases, 2,476 were reported from quarantine centres while 1,722 are local contacts.
District wise breakdown: Angul in the last 24 hours recorded 108 new COVID-19 cases, similarly Balasore reported 130, Bargarh 95, Bhadrak 53, Bolangir 197, Boudh 19, Cuttack 367, Deogarh 34, Dhenkanal 80, Gajapati 14, Ganjam 44, Jagatsinghpur 97, Jajpur 156, Jharsuguda 95, Kalahandi 93, Kandhamal 78, Kendrapada 143, Keonjhar 63, Khurda 758, Koraput 99, Malkangiri 22, Mayurbhanj 133, Nabarangpur 98, Nayagarh 43, Nuapada 116, Puri 310, Rayagada 136, Sambalpur 130, Sonepur 74, Sundargarh 195 and the State Pool 218.
The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 35,673.
