Bhubaneswar: A special senior citizens tirth yatra train will set off from Bhubaneswar railway station for Prayagraj and Varanasi Friday.

The Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to flag off this journey.

As many as 970 senior citizens will get an opportunity to travel to various holy places in India through this journey, said a source in the government.

As per the source, the passengers (senior citizens) belong to various parts of Odisha including Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, and Dhenkanal districts.

The senior citizens tirth yatra train shall be flagged off under the Baristha Nagarika Tirth Yatra Yojana (senior citizen pilgrimage scheme) by the Government of Odisha.
