Odisha, the holy land and Raseshwari Devi Ji

India has been a reservoir of spiritual wisdom for ages. Indian civilization is one of the oldest in the world.  Spirituality is the soul of India and an integral part of the Indian way of life since time immemorial. In course of time, all the major religions of the world have had a hand in their ideas and visions into the stream of the cultural heritage of India. The perfect synthesis of these powerful cultural currents constitutes the central channel of this culture and makes it vibrant. The uniqueness of Indian culture lies in the fact that it has created a spiritual ambiance on the earth in all stages of its continuity, from the pre-historic age down to the contemporary times.  As Swami Vivekananda says, “India’s gift to the world is the spiritual light.” The spiritual dimension of public lifeduring ancient, medieval, and modern times have remained embedded in the Vedic lore (The Upanishads especially) and all their spiritual practices, rituals and the ways of life have been derived from two texts calledItihasa (Mahabharata and Ramayana)

The land of Odisha stands unique, and it is well-acknowledged all over India for its strong and vibrant culture of Lord Jagannath. This land is also known as Samanmaya Dham (The abode of reconciliation) where all the religions conflate into one and spread the message of unity in diversity, inclusive of all thoughts of philosophers of world. From one end, Diversity creates differentiation in opinions among the masses, whereas unity strengthens this unique culture and its tradition. The very essence of Jagannath culture implies on arrangement of parts into an integrated whole, unlike the human body consists of different organs or parts, they are different in forms but integrated by a single soul. Many realised spiritual souls (such as Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Adi Jagadguru Shankaracharya, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu are among them) across all religions have come here to take a holy deep into this stream of Jagannath culture over the ages. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, (the 5th original Jagadguru of contemporary times) had also visited Puri in the year 2005.

H.H. Raseshwari Devi is the senior disciple of Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj. She chose this holy land of Odisha as the centre of spreading the essence of Sanatana Dharma as per the wish of her Guru. She founded Braj Gopika Seva Mission, a non-profit, charitable, and spiritual organization in the year 1999. As of now, it has four main centres across India: Braj Gopika Dham at Tangi, Jagadguru Kripalu Dham in Puri, Odisha; Bhakti Dham, and Kripalu Kunj in West Bengal. Devi Ji has currently 70 Satsang Units in India spreading across different states. Apart from India, she has Satsang Units in England, Germany, Mauritius, and Italy. BGSM is doing a tremendous job of offering the unique philosophy of Sanatana Dharma, especially Krishna Bhakti throughout India and overseas nations. Being a charitable organisation, it has been providing free healthcare services, promoting education awareness programs, and environmental care for holistic growth in its centres. Devi Ji’s clarion call of spiritual, charitable, and environmental awareness work is being carried out successfully at her Satsang units by her followers.
