Paradip: A mother and her two sons sustained critical burn injuries after their house caught fire in lightning during nor’wester at Barhadiha village under Kujang block of Jagatsinghpur district on the wee hours of Saturday.
A source said all three were first admitted to a Kujang hospital but later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack after their condition deteriorated.
The source said that the gas cylinder exploded and the thatched house was gutted after the lightning struck at around 3 am during nor’wester rain.
The mother and her two sons were critically injured in the fire and rushed to hospital.
The Fire Brigade personnel doused the fire.
Local BDO and Tehsildar have reached the spot and assessing the damage.
