Bhubaneswar: Odisha will be participating as a ‘Partner State’ at the Indus Food Meet 2019 being organised by the Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) and the Union Department of Commerce, said Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Minister Prafulla Samal after chairing a preparatory meeting held in this connection Thursday.
The Indus Food Meet is a mega international event being organised at the India Exposition Mart, Greater Noida, UP from January 14 to 15. This event aims at promoting export of food and beverages from India.
In this edition of Indus Food, around 600 prominent global players of the Food & Beverage industry from 60 countries would participate. The main objective of the event is to make these players source new products from India, meet suppliers and develop new business ties with Indian exhibitors.
Indus Food is aimed at creating a global food and beverage market in India in line with SIAL, ANUGA and Gulf Food. It would be a great opportunity for the agricultural product exporters of Odisha to exhibit their products.
MSME Additional Chief Secretary L N Gupta said as a ‘Partner State,’ Odisha will have its own pavilion with 30 exhibitors with their processed foods like spices, cashew, confectionary items, agro food etc.
The Directorate of Horticulture, APICOL and local firms will exhibit processed agro food items as well as spices produced in Odisha.
The event will boost the confidence of the exhibitors as they will be able to connect with their global counterparts.
A seminar on ‘Potential and Prospects of Food Processing Industry in Odisha’ is also being organised during the inaugural ceremony January 14 at the India Exposition Mart in Greater Noida.
Business delegates from Odisha will be able to hold B2B meetings with investors and entrepreneurs from other states and countries.
