Odisha Vigilance nabs Ex-Narayanpatna BDO who was on run since 2015

Koraput: Odisha Vigilance arrested long-absconding former BDO (Block Development Officer) of Narayanpatna block Ramesh Chandra Sahoo from New Delhi, a source said Monday.

The source informed that Sahoo would be produced today before a court in Delhi in order to bring him on transit remand to Odisha.

Based on intelligence input, vigilance officials nabbed Sahoo.

Sahoo was accused in seven corruption cases during his tenure as BDO of Narayanpatna in Koraput district.

The accused BDO was absconding since 2015.

According to the source, during the last eight years, Sahoo kept changing his locations by residing in rental accommodations in Delhi and neighbouring areas. He also absconded to Jorhat in Assam to evade arrest. Recently, he returned to Delhi from Assam.

It can be mentioned here that Sahoo was wanted in as many as seven cases of misappropriation of government funds that sum up nearly equal to Rs 34lakh.
