Bhawanipatna: The sleuths of Odisha Vigilance Wednesday unearthed disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees from the possession of an Assistant Engineer of General Public Health (GPH) section, Bhawanipatna of Odihsa’s Kalahandi district.
Vigilance source here said, acting on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets to the known sources of income by Assistant Engineer Kishore Chandra Sahu, the simultaneous house searches are being conducted by Vigilance officials at as many as three places.
During the search, the Vigilance team detected a triple-storied building with an approximate valuation of Rs 1.10 crore, two plots, bank and insurance deposits over Rs 1.03 crore, cash amounting to Rs 2.65 lakhs, 235 grams of gold ornaments, along with other assets and properties linked to Sahu, the source added.
The measurement and valuation of the building/plots are being carried out by the Vigilance technical wing and the searches are on, the source concluded.
