Bhubaneswar: The sleuths of Odisha Vigilance Thursday unearthed assets worth crores of rupees from the possession of a former District Social Welfare Officer of Bhadrak during house searches.
Vigilance sources said on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets (DA) by Jayanti Behera, presently posted at Women and Child Development Department, simultaneous house searches are being conducted at 11 places in Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Bhadrak.
During the search operation, the Vigilance officials unearthed three multi-storied buildings in Balasore, 2 Flats in Bhubaneswar, 4 plots, postal & insurance deposits over Rs 1.40 crore, Rs.2.79 Lakhs in cash, one four-wheeler, along with other assets so far in the name of Behera and her family members.
The measurement and valuation of the building, flats and plots was being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing at the time of filing this report.
