Odisha weather alert June 23: Heavy rainfall likely in these districts as monsoon advances

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar in its weather alert of June 23 issued a Yellow Warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of June 24: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of the state as monsoon that entered Odisha yesterday continued its advance.

From 8.30 AM of June 24 to 8.30 AM of June 25: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Cuttack, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts. Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Angul, Kandhamal, Boudh, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Sundargarh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 32 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 39.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Sambalpur and Sonepur while the lowest minimum temperature of 20.6 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh and Angul, the weather alert of June 23 informed.
