Odisha weather April 10: IMD issues Yellow Warning; mercury set to rise

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Monday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

The weather agency also predicted maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to rise gradually by 2-3 degrees Celsius over the next 2-3 days at a few places over several districts of the state and no large change can be experienced thereafter.

Upto 8.30 AM of April 11: IMD issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) for several districts of the state.

As per the Yellow Warning, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Kalahandi and Sundargarh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Gajapati and at one or two places over the remaining districts of Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of April 11 to 8.30 AM of April 12: According to the weather agency, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, and Bhadrak districts. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 40 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Baripada while the lowest minimum temperature of 18.0 degrees Celsius was recorded in Phulbani district.
