Odisha weather April 13: Heatwave likely to prevail for two more days in these districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Friday issued a Yellow Warning (heatwave condition) for several districts of Odisha.

No large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during the next two days is expected and a slight fall is predicted thereafter at many places over the districts of the state, IMD informed.

Maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to be 40 degree Celsius or more and above normal by 3-5 degree Celsius at a few places in the state over the next two days.

Upto 8:30 AM of April 15: As per the Yellow Warning, heatwave condition is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Jharsuguda districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal, Ganjam, and Kalahandi. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of the state.

From 8:30 AM of April 15 to 8:30 AM of April 16: As per Yellow Warning, heatwave condition is very likely to occur at one or two places over Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh and Deogarh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Rayagada. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a clear sky is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 40 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.

In the past 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 43.5 degree Celsius was recorded in Baripada and the lowest minimum temperature of 20.5 degree Celsius was recorded in Phulbani.
