Odisha weather April 15: Heatwave likely to end, thunderstorm expected in these districts from Sunday

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Saturday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

The weather agency predicted that there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the next 24 hours and a slight fall thereafter is expected at many places over several districts of the state.

Maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to remain above normal by 3-5 degree Celsius at a few places in Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of April 16: IMD issued a Yellow Warning for heatwave condition (be updated) in several districts of the state.

The weather agency stated that heatwave condition is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Sonepur and Boudh districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of April 16 to 8.30 AM of April 17:  According to the weather agency, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of Odisha.

IMD issued Yellow Warning (be updated) for Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Keonjhar districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kalahahdi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Nuapada districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of Odisha.

From 8.30 AM of April 17 to 8.30 AM of April 18: According to the weather agency, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over several districts of the state.

IMD issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Kandhamal districts.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kalahandi and Kandhamal districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a clear sky is expected. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 41 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively, IMD forecasted.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius was recorded in Baripada while the lowest minimum temperature of 20.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Phulbani.
