Odisha weather April 16: IMD issues Yellow Warning for these districts

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Sunday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of April 17:  As per the Yellow Warning, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Keonjhar and Bhadrak districts, the IMD bulletin informed.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, and Nuapada districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of April 17 to 8.30 AM of April 18: The weather agency issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) for several districts of Odisha.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, and Malkangiri districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapara districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.

The weather agency forecasted maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to be falling by 2-3 degree Celsius over the next three days and no large change thereafter is predicted at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to be 40 degree Celsius or more. The mercury may breach the above-normal temperature mark by 2-3 degree Celsius at a few places in Odisha.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a clear sky is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 41 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 42.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Boudh while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin informed.
