Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Monday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of April 18: As per the Yellow Warning, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Kandhamal districts. Heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Sambalpur districts, the IMD bulletin informed.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and Kandhamal districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of April 18 to 8.30 AM of April 19: The weather agency issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) for several districts of Odisha.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Kandhamal districts. Heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur and Sambalpur districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Nabarangpur districts. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the remaining districts of the state.
The weather agency forecasted that no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) is expected over the next 2 to 3 days and a gradual fall by 2 to 3 degree Celsius thereafter is predicted at many places in Odisha.
Maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to be 40 degree Celsius or more. The mercury may breach the above-normal temperature mark by 2-3 degree Celsius at a few places in Odisha.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of development of thunderstorm or lightning is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 40 degree Celsius and 27 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 43 degree Celsius was recorded at Jharsuguda while the lowest minimum temperature of 20.5 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin informed.
