Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Saturday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of April 23: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur and Nuapada districts, the IMD bulletin stated.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, and Boudh districts.
In the same timeframe, hailstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over Koraput, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam and Nabarangpur districts.
Apart from that, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur in a few places over South Odisha and one or two places over the districts of North Odisha.
From 8.30 AM of April 23 to 8.30 AM of April 24: The weather agency issued an Orange Warning (be prepared) for several districts of the state.
Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Boudh, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput and Rayagada districts.
Hailstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Boudh, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada and Koraput.

- People are advised to keep watch on weather and take safe shelter during thunderstorm to protect from lightning and follow traffic advisories in urban areas.
- Harvesting of Rabi crops may be regulated judiciously.
As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), hailstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over Kandhamal, Rayagada, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of south Odisha, north coastal Odisha and at a few places over the remaining districts of the state.
The weather agency forecasted maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius over the next three days and no large change thereafter at many places in Odisha.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 38 degree Celsius and 26 degree Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 39.4 degree Celsius was recorded at Nuapada while the lowest minimum temperature of 19.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Phulbani, the bulletin informed.
