Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Tuesday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.

Upto 8.30 AM of April 26: As per the Yellow Warning (be prepared), thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Rayagada and Boudh districts, the IMD bulletin stated.

Besides that, hailstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal and Deogarh districts. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the remaining districts of the state.

In the same timeframe, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and at a few places over the remaining districts of the state.

From 8.30 AM of April 26 to 8.30 AM of April 27: As per the Yellow Warning (be updated), thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri districts.

In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha.

The weather agency forecasted no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) over the next four to five days.

In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thunder or lightning is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 35 degree Celsius and 25 degree Celsius respectively.

In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 38.8 degree Celsius was recorded at Bolangir while the lowest minimum temperature of 21.0 degree Celsius was recorded at Nuapada, the bulletin informed.
