Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of IMD in Bhubaneswar Friday issued a Yellow Warning for several districts of Odisha.
Upto 8.30 AM of April 8: IMD has issued a Yellow Warning (be updated) for several districts in the state.
The weather agency predicted thunderstorm with lightning and with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jajpur, and Kendrapada. There is a possibility of hailstorm at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Mayurbhanj.
Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Bolangir, and Nuapada.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Keonjhar and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state.
From 8.30 AM of April 8 to 8.30 AM of April 9: IMD predicted thunderstorm with lightening and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40- 50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, and Mayurbhanj. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Jajpur, and Bhadrak.
In the same time frame, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the rest districts of the state.
In Bhubaneswar, for the next 24 hours, a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of moderate rain or thunderstrom is predicted by IMD. Maximum and minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 38 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
In the last 24 hours, the highest maximum temperature of 39.5 degrees Celsius was recorded Malkangiri district while the lowest minimum temperature of 18 degrees Celsius was recorded in Jagatsinghpur district of the state.
